Thank you ~ Michael, Aubree, and Landon Lowe
We have had 3 babies in the Madison Memorial NICU. We had twin boys 15 months ago and a baby girl 2 months ago. Our twins born 8 weeks early, and as a result were 3 lbs. 14 oz. and 4 lbs. 1 oz. Our latest little girl was 3 lbs. 10 oz. and was only 6 weeks early. Our experience here at the NICU was wonderful. The nurses were very friendly and would answer any question we had concerning our babies. They were always very calm and reassuring that everything would be okay.
Every time we went to visit our babies the staff welcomed us with open arms and tried to make us feel a part of the care for our babies. They allowed us to change their diapers and take their temperatures. We could even hold our babies while they were being fed using feeding tubes. As a mom, holding your baby it is so important. They always let me hold my babies until I had to go home and take care of my other children. Having babies in the NICU is hard, scary, and at times lonely because you can not be with them all the time. You worry about them constantly. The hardest thing is to leave your baby at the hospital when it is time for you to go home. We are the parents of eight children, so we could not spend as much time at the hospital as we would have liked. The time we did have though was spent holding and loving our newborn babies. Our twins were there 1 month and a few days whereas my daughter was only there 3 weeks. While it was extremely hard to leave, I knew my babies would be well taken care of.
We would like to say “thank you” to all of the nurses and doctors who took care of our little babies while in the NICU here. Our twins are now over 20 lbs. and doing really well. Our sweet little girl is almost 7 lbs. and is developing properly too. We are indeed grateful for everyone who took the time and showed compassion for us and our babies. We would recommend the Madison Memorial NICU to anyone who needed their newborn babies taken care of.

Landon was born January 30th just after 10:00 pm. Due to complications with the delivery, he was rushed to the NICU. That night was the scariest night of my life. He spent the next two and a half days in the NICU at Madison Memorial, and each of those days was also hard for my husband and me. I’m so grateful for the nurses and pediatricians that took care of our little boy. They answered my questions and were so good with Landon beyond what their jobs required. Everything was very professional and informative yet sensitive enough to help a new mom feel comfortable.
Our twins struggled with many different things like their oxygen, which would make the monitor beep all the time as it went up and down. Not being very medically inclined, I would always worry and sometimes would have to leave the NICU for a few minutes. The nurses are the ones that got me through these difficult times. I received a lot of support and knowledge from them. The nurses and doctors would allow us to call anytime of day. There were many times when I would call in the middle of the night to ask how my babies were doing. They would always answer and reassure me things were okay, and that would help me to not worry and go back to sleep.
